Bandipora, April 13: Janata Dal United (JDU) held workers’ meeting on Sunday afternoon at Vijpora Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, where hundreds of enthusiastic workers gathered to show their support. The meeting saw a major boost for the party as several workers from other political parties, including the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), joined the JDU.
The meeting was presided over by JDU State Secretary and District General Secretary Bandipora, GM Dar, who was accompanied by Women’s District President Bandipora, Jameela Javid; Women’s District General Secretary, Nighat Jan; Women’s District Secretary, Mehmooda Begum; Block President Hajin, Kousara; Block President Nowgam, Mohammad Afzal Panthan; and Vice Tehsil President Ganastan, Mustafa Mala, along with several other party workers.
The meeting was organized by Nighat Jan and Mehmooda Begum and witnessed a warm welcome for the new entrants. GM Dar personally welcomed the new members into the party fold and expressed confidence that their inclusion would further strengthen JDU at the grassroots level.
Speaking to the media, GM Dar stated, “The primary aim of today’s meeting was to gear up for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) and Panchayat elections. We are fully prepared to contest and emerge strong.” He further added that the large number of workers joining from other parties is a sign of growing public trust in JDU’s commitment to grassroots development.
Dar also took a sharp dig at the National Conference, accusing them of depriving the people of basic facilities. “NC has failed to work for the welfare of the common people. Unlike them, JDU is committed to real development and the upliftment of the masses,” he said.
The meeting concluded with chants of unity and resolve as party members pledged to strengthen JDU across the district and prepare effectively for the upcoming elections.
