Srinagar, Aug 26 (NVI) : Across the Kashmir Valley, the festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with zeal and religious gaiety on Monday.
Devotees marked the birth of Lord Krishna with special prayers, bhajans, and other religious activities.
Across the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar, a rally was held; there, the devotees recited devotional songs and colorful banners added to the festive mood, the details available with the News Vibes of India—(NVI) revealed. The participation in the rally, with everybody attired in traditional attire, added to the festivity of the occasion by having fun together in complete unity.
Across the Valley, temples were beautifully decorated, and special prayers were held throughout the day. Many observed fasts, while others participated in the rituals and ceremonies associated with the festival.
Notably, Janmashtami is celebrated with much devotion by the Hindu community, and this time, celebrations in Kashmir were marked by a feel of communal harmony as people from different faiths joined to observe the festival.(News Vibes of India)
