Srinagar, Feb 2: Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a module of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit involving in recent greande attack in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Giving details SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said: “On 25.01.2019 at about 18:45hrs unknown militants threw a hand gernade on SBI camp of 179 Bn, CRPF, however, the gernade missed the intended target and exploded outside the camp in which no loss of life or injury has inflicted from either side”.
SSP further said that a case was subsequently filed under FIR NO 13/2019 U/S 307/RPC۔ 7/27 A act and investigation of the case was set in to motion.
“During the course of investigation, three individuals were detained by police on suspicion basis for questioning and to get a breakthrough of the case,” he said.
He identified the deceased as Ghulam Qadir Rather @Kaisar son of Mohd shafi Rather of Tarzoo Sopore, Aijaz Ahmad khan son of Ghulam Mohd Khan of Naseem Bagh Sopore and Owais Khalid son of Ghulam Mohd Dar of Naseem Bagh Krankshivan Sopore.
” During questioning involvement of these three individuals have surfaced who confessed the comission of offence. It was revealed that the JeM militants based in sopore provided 02 gernades to these individuals for throwing on the security forces to cause life demage / injury to security forces personal/ installations and to instil fear them, “he said.
According they have been formally arrested in the case. Investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are expected, SSP said.
