Srinagar, Aug 03 : JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday said that the state subject law and defending it is a matter of life and death for the people of Jammu Kashmir and no Kashmiri will remain silent on its abrogation or waning.
According to the statement issued to KNS, Malik was addressing protestors at Lal Chowk Bund who were protesting against the proposed abrogation of state subject law in Jammu Kashmir.
On JRL call, JKLF activists and leaders staged protests at Budshah Chowk Lal Chowk and the Bund Lal Chowk. Malik addressed people at Masjid Bilal (The Bund) after which he led protesters at the bund.
Holding placards against proposed abrogation of the state subject law and in favor of freedom, the protesters raised enthusiastic slogans on the occasion.
The spokesman said that people from many walks of life including JKLF leaders Mushtaq Amal, Mir Muhammad Zaman, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others.
Similar protest was held near Budshah Chowk Lal chowk which was attended by various JKLF leaders including advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Javed Ahmad Zargar, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Meraj ud din Parray, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Hanif etc.
Speaking to the protestors, Malik said that joint resistance leadership (JRL) has announced a protest program and called for a complete shutdown on 5th and 6th of August 2018 and every Kashmiri will stay indoors on these days as a mark of protest.
JKLF chairman warned that if Supreme Court of India will give any verdict that is against the aspirations of Kashmiris, whole Kashmir will come out on roads initiating a full-fledged agitation and we will not shy away even from spilling our blood on roads and streets.
He said that on 6th August 2018, Supreme Court of India is scheduled to hear the petition on 35 A filed by a RSS backed NGO.
He said that Indian rulers from day one have been busy in hatching conspiracies to change the demography of Jammu Kashmir and this plea in the SC is also the part of the same conspiracy.
Malik said that inspired by Israeli tactics, RSS backed rulers have launched a multi-pronged strategy to change demography in Jammu Kashmir. “Conspirators have taken this case to Indian Supreme Court which admitted it for hearing though it should have not been admitted in first place as same Supreme Court more than once in past has rejected similar kind of petitions on this,” Malik said.
He said that India deems Jammu Kashmir as its colony and attempts to suppress the resistance of the people of Jammu Kashmir and removing 35 A is also part of these efforts.
Malik said that “we don’t want our people to suffer in any way as we all are aware of the hardships they are facing but when it comes to issue of life and death especially in ones collective (National) existence, no choice is left but to resist.”
“From last many years we have witnessed numerous controversial proposals and ideas being floated by Indian rulers who only want to inflict more and more harm to people of Jammu Kashmir. This new controversy on 35 A is also aimed at hurting our dignity; inflict more miseries on us and change the demography of our land, so that our resistance against illegal occupation is defeated completely,” he said.
He said that as “a living nation, Kashmiris fully know to safeguard their dignity and resistance and whatever be the cost, we will resist every evil design of India which is detrimental to our sacred cause.” (KNS)
