Ganderbal: Wussan Battalion in collaboration with Narayan Seva Sansthan, an NGO in India, based in Udaipur (Rajasthan). Established in 1985, it has worked extensively for more than three decades to reach out and rehabilitate differently able people from the underprivileged segment.
Narayan Seva Sansthan works with 480 branches in India and 49 branches abroad while focusing on alleviating people with disabilities and providing proper Physical, Social, and Economic Rehabilitation to the needy.
The camp is being organised for a duration of three days from 24-26 Jul 22, wherein, specially abled are being fitted with artificial limbs as per the measurements taken during the first phase of the camp from 21-23 May 22 and manufactured by the Sansthan.
Total of 64 Specially Abled being fitted with artificial limbs and assistive devices such as Wheelchairs (20) and Hearing Aids (20) being distributed to the differently abled, so that they can overcome their body limitations and become self dependent.
The camp has been organised in two phases. The first phase was conducted for a duration of three days from 21-23 May 22, wherein, Prosthetics and Orthotics doctors alongwith technicians from NSS had examined and taken measurements for manufacturing of artificial limbs for the differently abled of the area.
Phase II of the camp i.e Artificial Limb Fitment Camp is being organised on 24- 26 Jul 22, wherein, the same team of doctors and technicians is fitting these prepared artificial limbs to the differently abled people, who have disembodied limbs.
Organizing such camps will go a long way in projecting the positive image of Indian Army in masses as an organisation committed to work for the weaker sections of the society.
