Srinagar 01 Aug : The business community of Kashmir on Wednesday launched its week-long protest programme with a silent protest march to “protect” Article 35-A from any onslaughts.

Several business bodies took part in the silent protest march from Residency Road to Press Enclave here.

Speaking on the occasion, president Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Javid Ahmad Tenga said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are ready to sacrifice everything and will shed their last drop of blood to defend the Article 35-A.

Mubeen Ahmed Shah, a senior member of KCCI said that the traders’ bodies assembled to protest the interference with Article 35-A. He said the Supreme Court should dismiss the case.

The protest was jointly organized by KCC&I, FCIK, KTMF, JKSECE, Batamaloo Traders Association, KCSDS, All Joint Traders and Transporters Coordination Committee Batamaloo and other local market associations, a statement issued here by KCCI said.

The business leaders expressed their concern over the threat to abrogate Article 35-A through mischievous scheming, the KCCI statement added.
