Ganderbal 12 Oct (KNZ):The 2nd ever divisional level Women’s Cricket Championship being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Cricket Association in collaboration with Ganderbal based 5 Rashtriya Rifles concluded here today at Gadoora Ground with Srinagar winning the tournament by defeating Anantnag in the final match.
Trophy, medals and a cricket kit were awarded to the Champions and the Runners up. In addition, individual trophies and gifts were also awarded to Player of the Match, Player of the series, Best Bowler and Best Batsman & Best Fielder.
On the final match and presentation ceremony, Brigadier Syed Ali Usman.was the Chief Guest while as Principal Govt College of Physical Education, Dr. Hartej Singh attended the function as the Guest of Honor. CO 5RR, Col M Gururaj was also present on the occasion.
First of its kind, the championship witnessed participation of 11 teams hailing from various districts of the valley. The championship which was the first major platform of the JKWCA, well supported by 5RR was inaugurated on 09 October by Brigadier Syed Ali Usman.(KNZ)
