Kulgam:Police station Devsar recieved a written complaint by one person namely Gull Mohd Shan S/O Abdul Kareem Shan R/O Kelam stating that a person came in contact with him and posed himself as a Police Officer. The said person assures the complainant that the case of his son who is presently booked by police is with them and demanded Rupees one lakh to close the file. The complainant paid him Rs. 5000 in advance to close the case before complaining at Police station.
Acting promptly upon the complaint a Case FIR No.05/2021 U/S 420IPC was registered at Police Station Devsar and investigation was set into motion.
Accordingly, a team headed by SHO Devsar Insp. Jazib Mohammed under the supervision of DySP PC Kulgam Shri. Arvind Kumar Badgal-JKPS was constituted and on tip off the team swung into action and the accused namely Umar Bashir Dar S/O Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Brazloo Jageer was arrested who during questioning broke down and confessed his involvement into the preplanned crime. Investigation of the instant case is in progress.
General public is requested to come forward and report to Police if any person is involved in such kind of fraud.
