Ganderbal February 23:District Police Ganderbal in its recent action against drug dealings, on the direction of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS a team was constituted and headed by SHO Kangan Insp Aftab Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Sheikh Tahir Amin-JKPS in at Bonibagh which is under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan has apprehended one lady (name with held) who was carrying an illegal drug trafficking under the grab of her shop in which goods were hardly worth Rs10000/- only.
While as 400 gms of charas like substance and Indian currency Rs 4,22,750/- which the accused lady had earned out of this illegal trade also seized from her possession.
In this connection a case FIR No. 06/20 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Kangan. The accused has been formally arrested in the case.
Initial investigation of the case reveals that said accused lady is a shopkeeper who was selling drugs to the youth of the town.
Consistent efforts are being made by District Police Ganderbal to control and eradicate menace of drugs from society for which cooperation of general public is required. Those who share information regarding misuse of drugs shall be appreciated and their identity shall be kept secret.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
