Kupwara, May, 06: Langate Municipal Committee (LMC) today on Monday organized a seminar on Solid Waste Management at Boys Government Higher Secondary School Langate.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Gulzar Ahmad Bhat presided over the function and The programme was conducted under the supervision of Executive Officer Municipal Committee Langate, Ab Ahad, who also welcome the guests on the occasion.
During the seminar, the experts urged upon all stakeholders to avoid throwing the garbage and other wastes on roads, rivers-banks nallas, natural water bodies.
The matters related to use of polythene, and solid waste management were also discussed and the experts also gavel some suggestions to tackle pollution menace in the rural and urban areas by initiating steps, including disposing-off the garbage and all kinds of wastes in a scientific manner.
