Kulgam July 09, CNS :Lieutenant Governor J&K Shri Girish Chander Murmu today chaired a joint security review meeting in Kulgam in which he took a detailed review of existing security arrangements regarding upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The meeting was attended by DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh-IPS, Div Com Kashmir shri Pandurang K Pole, IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS, DIG (SKR)Anantnag Shri Atul Kumar Goyal-IPS, DIG CRPF Shri Dalip Singh Ambesh, SP Kulgam Shri Gurinder Pal Singh-IPS, CO 18/Bn CRPF Shri Gaurav Singh, alongwith other officers of Security forces of District kulgam. DGP J&K briefed about the role of JK Police in maintaining the stability and peace in JK.
DIG (SKR) Anantnag made a detailed presentation about the security scenario, focussing on the security measures taken regarding smooth functioning of upcoming Yatra.
During the meeting, Superintendent of police Kulgam Briefed the Lieutenant governor about various drives launched by Kulgam Police to tackle anti social elements in the District, he also briefed about the necessary arrangements put in place to contain the spread of COVID-19, and arrangements in place at the ground level for forging coordination among different forces deployed in the District for maintaining law and order.
Lieutenant Governor Shri GC Murmu applauded the efforts of security forces in maintaining peace and stability, and for preventive measures which have been taken to eradicate the spread of Corona virus. He laid focus on strengthening coordination among the forces so as to ensure crime free society. Lieutenant governor UT (J&K) emphasized upon better and close coordination between all agencies to ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, and for preventing the spread of COVID-19.(CNS)
