Ganderbal 17 Oct【KNZ】:Army Personals were injured after locals thrashed them and stopped their vehicle at Akhal in Kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
A police official said that private vehicle Santro car bearing no. JK01R 6187 carrying army personnel in civvies were stopped by locals and demand identity cards from them on board,the agitating people mistook them as braid choppers and starting thrashed them beat them pulp.
After this news spread in area Personals of RR Battalion rushed there and saved them from huge mob.
Sources said Protesters set the Santro Car on fire while as Police rushed to spot and try to pacify people which led to stone pelting and tear gas shelling in the area.
Meanwhile shopkeepers downed their shutters in kangan market while youth took to roads and pelted stones on government forces.
Sources added The injured army personals were hospitalized .
A top police official told Kashmir Based News Agency “KASHMIR NEWS Z ONE” that they have registered case in this regard at police station Kangan under FIR no.96/17,147,148,149,332,336,435 RPC while as investigations are going on.
