GANDERBAL, MARCH 15:- District Election Officer Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today held a meeting with the representatives of political parties in district Ganderbal to dispose off various representations regarding change of location of several Polling Stations in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Dy. DEO, SDM Kangan, Tehsildars, SHOs besides representatives of all political parties in the district.
During the meeting round of discussions were held regarding the changing/clubbing of locations of several Polling Stations.
During meeting around 27 representations regarding change/clubbing of location of Polling Stations came into discussion among which several representations were taken into consideration with regard to change of location as per guidelines of ECI.
After discussions a proposal for change/clubbing of location of several Polling Stations was sent to ECI keeping in view several issues including security concerns, proper road connectivity, feasibility and distance of Polling Station from habitation.
While interacting with the representatives of Political parties, SSP Ganderbal said that generally the location of only such Polling Station is changed where we find the security concerns as our first priority is security to voters, security personals, polling parties and other officials concerned with polls.
