Srinagar, April 12 (KS) :- A man was held after four rice bags meant for mid day meals were recovered from his vehicle in Budgam district.
An official told Kashmir Scroll that on police post Hardpanzoo recieved an information from reliable sources to the effect that one person namely Gulzar Ahmad Khan Son of Gh Ahmed Khan R/O Hardpanzoo has in conspiracy with one employee of Education Department posted at ZEO Office Hardpanzoo namely Showkat Ahmad Bhat Son of Noor Mohd Bhat R/O Hanjiguroo procured Govt. Ration meant for Mid-day meals Scheme and after loading the same in one Maruti Vehicle bearing Registration Number JK09-9706, both the alleged accused have boarded the said vehicle and are looking forward to leave ZEO Office Hardpanzoo towards main road.
He said case FIR No./2023 under section 409, 120-B IPC got registered and investigation taken up, he said, adding that during investigation, the said vehicle was intercepted by police party of PP Hardpanzoo near Panzoo Crossing.
One of the accused namely Showkat Ahmad left the vehicle and fled from the spot, however, accused Gulzar Ahmad Khan Son of Gh Ahmed Khan R/O Hardpanzoo was apprehended on spot, he said.
“Upon search of the said vehicle, four packed/sealed bags of Govt. Rice were recovered and recovered Rice bags alongwith vehicle were seized and accused namely Gulzar Ahmad Khan was arrested in the instant case while further, investigation is going on, he said—(KS)
