Srinagar, August 14: In a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir, a Martyr DySP and an SPO of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been awarded prestigious gallantry awards by the honorable President of India.
According to an order issued today evening, DySP Humayun Muzammil Bhat has been posthumously honored with the Kirti Chakra for his gallant and selfless service. DySP Bhat had attained martyrdom while fighting terrorists in the Kokernag area of Anantnag District last year.
Special Police Officer (SPO) Abdul Latif has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his exceptional services on anti-terror front.
The Director General of Police, J&K Shri R.R. Swain, has congratulated the families of the awardees and expressed pride in the gallantry and dedication of the personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The awards are a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of the personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police, who are working tirelessly to maintain peace and order in the Union Territory.
