Ganderbal, June 03 (KNZ):The half plus one number of councillors today voted for no confidence on the present president MCG,Advocate Altaf Ahmad Lone.
The no confidence motion has held officially in the Town Hall of Municipal Committee Ganderbal this afternoon.
Out of the total 17 ward councillors, 8 including Adv Altaf Lone remained absent whereas the remaining nine includingJeelani Mir,Abdul Rashid,Hilal Tantray,Ab Majeed Mir,Sajad Wani,Gh Hassan Dar,Mtr Nabla,Showkat Mir and
Lateef Ahmad Chopan were present and expressed their disappointment and dissatisfaction against Adv Altaf.
The no confidence motion was held in presence of the observer, Firdous Ahmad (Executive officer, Municipal Committee, Hajin) and Executive officer, MCG Ganderbal, GM Lone did the proceedings.
It was finally announced that the no confidence motion filed by Abdul Majeed Mir and others was processed and nine votes were casted in its favour thus Adv Altaf Ahmad Lone seized to hold the chair here onwards.
The vice president will hold the responsibilities till the election for new president would take place.KNZ
