Ganderbal 27 Aug【KNZ】:Jurina Marcrocephola dhoop Half a dozen bags were seized in Shutkari area of Sonamarg Tourist Resort of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District.
A team of forest officials of sindh forest range led by range officer Muneer Ahmad and Mohd.Israel under the supervision of DFO Ganderbal laid a siege near Shutkari area of Gund Tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal after hectic efforts they recovered half a dozen bags of Marcrocephola Dhoop.
Macrocephala dhoop plants are medicinal used,Dhoop, the fragrant Alpine herb.for incense the fregrant wood dhoop are alpine flowers found in upper reaches of Sonamarg valley in Ganderbal.
‘Dhoop’ used as incense in temples and at home, It is given in the treatment of colic and puerperal fever.
When contacted Divisional Forest Officer Sindh Mr Tanveer Ahmad told Kashmir Based News Agency KNZ on 26th August at around 5pm our team laid a siege at Shutkardi Forest compartment NO: 65A carried out a successful operation followed by concerned Range officer Sindh and field staff in which we have seized some seven bags of Marcrocephola Dhoop (DOPY) its a big achievement for us to curb Smuggling of medicinal Plants.”he said
“From past several days we have inputs about smuggling of medicinal plant at Sonamarg tourist resort our team on specific information have seized seven bags of jurina macrocephala dhoop.”he added
