Seek dismissal of the petition filed by ‘we the citizens’ in the light of earlier SC Judgments
Srinagar, Aug 02 : Members of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee (J&K CSCC) has filed application of Intervention against the petition filed by a lesser known NGO ‘We The Citizens’ for abrogation of Article 35 A in the Supreme Court of India.
In their joint application of intervention before the Supreme Court of India three members of J&K Civil Society Coordination Committee Mir Javed Advocate J&K High Court, Mufti Nasir Ul Islam the Deputy Grand Mufti and Jagmohan Singh Raina Chairman All Party Sikh Coordination Committee have sought dismissal of the petition filed by lesser known NGO ‘we the citizens’ for abrogation of Article 35 A.
The members of J&K Civil Society Coordination Committee have in their application of intervention argued that since the Supreme Court has already dismissed several petitions filed before it for abrogation of Article 35 A of the constitution of India in the distant past, the petition of NGO ‘We The Citizens’ filed for abrogation of Article 35 A may be dismissed in the light of the earlier judgments of the country’s top court.
Meanwhile they have urged all stakeholders of Jammu and Kashmir to file application of intervention before the Supreme Court of India for dismissal of the petition filed by NGO ‘we the citizens’ for abrogation of article 35 A.
