Ganderbal 12 Aug (KNZ):As a part of Aazadi Ka Amrit Maha-Atsav, on the theme “Meri Maati Mera Desh; Mitti Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan” Ganderbal Police launched a Plantation Drive at DPL Ganderbal by planting hundreds of saplings of plants with the aim and motive to revive nature & environment.
SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS participated in the Plantation Drive alongwith NOKs of Police Martyr’s in which Dy.SP Headquarters Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS, including other Officers/Officials took part with huge fervour and enthusiasm.
Through this Plantation Drive Ganderbal Police aimed to propagate the message to general public that plantation drive should be entailed/inculcated among people as fundamental duties towards environment. People should maintain balaced relation with the environment for future sustainability.
The aim of this initiative is also to promote greenery in our Police Establishments as a part of larger Sustainable Ecological Development. The preservation of our ecology assumes importance so as to stabilize our ecosystem in order to preserve the ecological diversity within it.
As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Maha-Atsav, the aim of the Drive was also to Commemorate Police Martyrs. Finally, SSP Ganderbal also heard the grievances of NOKs of Police Martyr’s one by one and assured them every help & support and asked them that their genuine grievances will be put up with higher ups for proper redressal. SSP Ganderbal alongwith NOKs of Police Martyr’s also visited Martyr’s Gallery in DPL Ganderbal to pay floral tributes to them. Finally, gifts were distributed among the NOks of Police Martyr’s.
