GANDERBAL, APRIL 27: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today toured various areas of the district to inspect the resumption of Rural Development Department (RDD) activities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, District Panchayat Officer, Kundanbir Kour, BDO Ganderbal and other concerned accompanied the DC.
During visit the DC took stock of various activities of MGNREGA including de-silting process of various canals and Khuls of the district and urged the concerned BDOs to ensure de-silting process is completed within the stipulated time frame as most of agricultural activities are already resumed in the district.
On the occasion the DC also interacted with the workers who hailed the central Government in general and District Administration particular for allowing MGNREGA works during the lockdown. The DC emphasized them on ensuring social distancing norms besides using face masks during work.
Meanwhile, various farmers also interacted with the DC who hailed the District Administration for starting de-silting process of various canals and Khuls of the district as most of agriculture land of the district is dependent on these canals and Khuls for irrigation and urged the DC that de-silting process shall be completed at the earliest as agricultural activities are already resumed in the district.
The DC assured them that all major canals and important Khuls will be de-silted on priority basis and in this regard the necessary instruction are already given to the Rural Development Department.
Later, DC also visited the JNV, Hatbura which is established as Covid 19 Health Centre with 300 bed capacity in the district. on the occasion the DC took stock of facilities including bedding and other related facilities there.
