Aug 10. Joint Naka of Police Sopore, 52 RR and 177 CRPF Bn. was established on Seer Amargarh Road near Railway Crossing Seer Sopore. During Naka checking, one suspected person jumped the Naka and fled to a nearby orchard. Accordingly the said area was cordoned off by the Police and security forces and the suspected person was apprehended. During the search his identity is revealed as Ishfaq Ahmad Kanna S/o. Mohammad Shafi Kanna of Jamia-Qadeem Sopore district Baramulla, who recently joined Let outfit. Following Arms & Ammunition were recovered from his possession :-
01. Pistol = 01 No.
02. Pistol Meg. = 01 No.
03. Pistol Rds. = 05 No’s.
04. UBGL Grenades = 02 No’s.
To this effect, Case FIR No. 86/2017 U/S 7/25 A. Act stands registered in Police Station Tarzoo.
The said militant was part of Lashkar Module in north Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that 03 militants of this Lashkar Module were killed on 05-08-2017 at Jamia Mohalla Amargarh Sopore. Before joining Let outfit, the said militant worked as an active recruiter/OGW for Let outfit in Sopore and other areas of North Kashmir. He was involved in case FIR No. 126/2012 U/S 307 RPC 7/27 A. Act in a Grenade throwing case on Police Station Sopore.
