Kupwara, October 29 (KS): Two days after the successful anti-militancy operation in the Machil sector, security forces on Sunday claimed to have foiled another infiltration bid along the line of control (LOC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that in the Jumagund sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, one militant has been killed. He said the operation, which is still ongoing, successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LOC).
He said just two days ago, five militants were neutralized in the Machil sector along the LOC. The continuous commitment and determination of our troops have resulted in significant gains in the fight against militancy.
Pertinently, GOC 28 Infantry Division, Major General Rajesh Kalia, expressed satisfaction with the troops’ performance. In just eight months, a remarkable total of 27 militants have been killed in Kupwara district alone.
Major General Kalia emphasized that the security forces remain fully dedicated to their mission, ensuring the safety and security of the region. With alert troopers stationed at strategic locations along the LOC in Kupwara district, every attempt from the enemy is being vigilantly countered. (KS)
