Militants on Friday evening attacked the office of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said the militants opened fire on the ASP’s office in Gagran area on the outskirts of town around 6:45 PM.
The policemen, according to the official, immediately retaliated, forcing the militants to flee from the spot.
The official, however, said that no casualties were reported in the exchange of fire.
Earlier in the day, a soldier was injured when militants attacked an army camp in Mantribugh village of the district.
