Anantnag, 10 January 2025: DIG South Kashmir Range, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Dog kennel facility at District Police Lines Anantnag today, accompanied by SSP Anantnag, Shri Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the District Police’s capabilities in crime detection, search-and-rescue operations, and explosives detection.
Speaking at the inauguration, DIG SKR highlighted the critical role of well-trained canine units in Modern Policing. He noted that the facility is designed to provide an optimal environment for training and maintaining Police dogs, thereby improving the operational efficiency of the force.
SSP Anantnag, Shri Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, praised the efforts of the Police team in establishing the kennel and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to leveraging advanced tools and techniques to ensure public safety.
The event was attended by senior officers, including SP Headquarters Anantnag Shri Sajad Ahmad, DySP Headquarters Anantnag Shri Mohammad Ayouib, DySP DAR Anantnag Shri Rouf Baba, and other district police officials.
The inauguration featured a live demonstration of the skills of the trained canine unit, which was met with widespread appreciation. The initiative marks a milestone in strengthening the district’s policing infrastructure and operational readiness.
