Tangmarg, Oct 29, KNT: Family members and relatives of a deceased young man staged a protest in the Kunzar Tangmarg area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged ‘murder’ of 22-year old Saqlain Rashid, a native of Zanigam Beerwah of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Yesterday, it was reported that Saqlain Rashid succumbed in the hospital after getting injured in an accident near Drang Tangmarg. However, the family and relatives of the deceased youth contested the claim and alleged that he has been murdered.
“The bike he used has not even a scratch. He has not suffered any injury. Somebody has hit his head with an iron rod,” the relatives claimed to add that his associate who was also on the bike has not suffered any injury as well.
The protesters told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that there is no reason to believe that Saqlain Rashid has been killed in a road accident.
The protesters raised slogans seeking justice, demanding top police brass for speedy investigation.
A police official said that a case in this regard has already been registered and an investigation is underway. (KNT)
