Budgam, Sep 7, KNT: A family that accuses three persons of ‘murdering’ their son Monday staged a protest in Press Enclave Srinagar accusing Chodura police of ‘inaction.’
Pertinently, on 5 August last month, a youth namely Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Muhammad Sidiq Dar of Surasyar area of Chadura died at his home after playing cricket whole day with his friends. He was buried at his native graveyard in Surasyar. After his death, family doubted that his friends might have forced him to consume some drugs and that might have resulted in his death.
To ascertain the cause of his death, they wanted the body to be exhumed so that a postmortem could be conducted on it.
The family had approached District Development Commissioner Budgam with are quest to exhume the body. They in an application had stated that they haves strong suspicion over his two friends, one is a driver who hails from Sursyar and another is from Gund Chadoora.
Last week the body was exhumed amid protest by family members.
The family of the said youth who was a driver by profession appeared in Press Enclave Srinagar. They thanked DC Budgam and Health professionals but alleged that Chadura police caused delay and didn’t help them. “My son Sajad was a driver against whom one Adil Wani and two other persons hatched a conspiracy and ‘murdered’ him. He was with them whole day and before his death on the same day at home, we found bruises on his eye, broken wrist watch while the cash he was carrying was also missing,” her mother who fainted in Press Enclave told news agency KNT.
She said postmortem report shows ‘poison’ as the cause of death of her son and yet no action against the culprits is taken.
An official said that action will be taken only after the outcome of the postmortem report. (KNT)
