Ganderbal, Nov 09: The National Legal Services Day was observed at Ganderbal by the District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal under the chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Wani on 09th of November 2020. The National Legal Services Day programme was a call to ensure reasonable fair and just procedure for all citizens.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority (pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal “Mr. Sajad ur Rehman, Panel Lawyers and PLVs participated in the event.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal while speaking on the occasion higlighted the objectives of the Legal Services Authority Act and the role of Legal Services Authorities for promoting equal opportunities of seeking justice without allowing the economic and other social conditions to operate as a hindrance. He said that equal opportunities of seeking Justice by providing free legal aid to the needy and deserving are mandated by the constitutional provisions under Articles 14 and 39A.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal emphasized on the urgency of striving for reducing the gap between the rich and poor litigants for a fair justice delivery. He said the notion of free legal aid finds its roots in the idea that no individual should have to undergo without justice.
On the occasion Junior Legal Assistant “Mtr. Gulafrooz Khan” highlighted the workdone of District Legal services authority Ganderbal in the year 2020, especially during pandemic COVID-19 and appreciated the PLVs of DLSA GANDERBAL who worked tirelessly during the pandemic COVID-19.
