Srinagar, 30 Aug: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference delegation visited Baramulla and expressed their sympathies with the family of AEE Late Sardar Gurmeet Singh, whose dead body was recovered yesterday.
The delegation consisted of party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam wani, Provincial Secretary Showkat Mir, North Zone President Javed Dar, Minority wing convenor Sardar JS Azad, and party leader Ghulam Hassan Rahi. The party functionaries extended sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family and implored the administration to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.
They also appreciated the intense and comprehensive search operation by SDRF, canine squad and drone surveillance that led to the finding of the body of Gurmeet Singh from a barrage in Lower Jhelum Hydel Project.
Meanwhile Provincial VP Ahsan Pardesi and Women’s wing Provincial President Er. Sabiya Qadri paid a condolence visit at the residence of Owais Mehraj, a resident of Ikhraj Pora Srinagar who had drowned while taking a bath in the Jhelum near Zero Bridge.
The duo shared the grief of the bereaved household in their hour of grief and loss and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
