Srinagar: IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, successfully organized a night session program at Govt. Boys High School, Batapora, Srinagar. The session, aimed at fostering scientific temperament among students, was held under the guidance of Aamir Sultan, Assistant Project Engineer, IIT Kanpur.

The initiative is part of IIT Kanpur’s AAGHAZ Initiative to enhance scientific understanding and curiosity in students from selected schools across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The night session was conducted at the historic Burzahama Archaeological Site in Srinagar. Students eagerly awaited the moonrise, which occurred at approximately 11:15 PM. Following this, they had the opportunity to observe the moon through a telescope, an experience many described as mesmerizing. For many students, it was their first close-up view of the moon, leaving them in awe and sparking a deeper interest in astronomy.

The event was attended by students and teachers from Govt. Boys High School, Batapora and Govt. Middle School, Habak who expressed their appreciation for this unique educational experience.
