Srinagar, February 12 : Nocturnal gunfight rages between militants and goverment forces in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 50RR, 183/182 BN of CRPF and SOG Pulwama launched cordon and search operation in Ratnipora after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces closed in towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
A senior Police official also confirmed to GNS about contact established with the hiding militants.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped. Till this story was filed exchange of firing was going on.
Meanwhile mobile internet will be shortly snapped in Pulwama for precautionary measures.(GNS)
