A complete shutdown was observed in Tral, Awantipora and Pampore townships on Tuesday against the killing of top JeM militant Mufti Waqas at Hatiwara Awantipora on Monday evening
A top Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) divisional commander, Mufti Waqas alias (Abu Arsalan) was killed and a policeman sustained minor injuries in a gunfight between militants and government forces in Hatiwara on Monday.All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remain closed in these areas while public transport was off the roads.
High speed mobile Internet service remained off for the second consecutive day.
