GANDERBAL, AUGUST 09: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that overall Covid recovery rate has substantially increased and positivity rate has decreased in the district.
The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the Covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.
While giving details, the DC said that in last week the Covid testing was done vigorously and according number of positive cases has increased adding that the postive cases were generally found during contact tracing.
She appealed covid positive persons to issolate themselves and take precautions which is extremely important to save their relatives and others from infection and urged them to immediately contact nearest medial practitioner and took medical advice for their safety.
Regarding easing restrictions in Sonamarg and Manasbal tourist destination, the DC said that in last week the weekend restrictions were eased and it was observed that people visiting to these destinations were found following Covid protocols which is an appreciable sign. She further said that in this week both the tourist destinations shall remain open for the general public on weekends and appealed to the people to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other basic protocols like wearing mask and maintaining social distancing while visiting these tourst destinations.
