Police on Wednesday evening claimed to have arrested a militant in a live action after throwing grenade on Police party at Pattan. Police in statement said that based on the input that some terrorists are travelling on Baramulla Srinagar highway, Police Naka party deployed at Baba Teng Pattan were checking the vehicles.
In the meanwhile while a passenger vehicle was signalled to stop, militants boarding the vehicle lobbed a hand grenade on police party. In the incident one Police Officer Zaffar Mehdi,DySP and two policemen Shabir Ahmad and Ashiq Hussain got injured who were evacuated to hospital and are stable.
The militants fled from the scene of crime and while being chased one militant was caught alive. The arrested militant has been identified as Faizan Majeed Bhat S/OAbdul Majeed Bhat R/O Naibug Tral who had got recruited in militant ranks on October 3rd,2018.
He along with other militant Showkat Ahmad Bhat R/O Awantipore who managed to escape had joined Tehreekul Mujahideen proscribed militant outfit.
Further investigation into the matter is going on.
