Srinagar, Mar 10 : Acting on the complaint of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, police arrested a Revenue Official (Patwari), after he allegedly ‘misbehaved’ with ACB officials during a raid at his residential house.
Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a team of ACB raided the residential house of a Patwari in Baghat area of uptown Srinagar on Thursday.
The raid was conducted after ACB received a number of complaints wherein it was alleged that the said Patwari has been resorting to ‘malpractices’. The house of the Patwari who is presently posted in Nishat area of Srinagar outskirts was accordingly raided and during the search operation, the Patwari, as well as the family members, ‘confronted’ and ‘misbehaved’ with the ACB team.
ACB not only registered an FIR against the Patwari but also reported the incident at Police Station Sadar and accordingly the Patwari was arrested.
Confirming the development, a police official told KNT two FIRs have been lodged against the Patwari, one by ACB and another by police. He confirmed the arrest of Patwari under the relevant sections of law. (KNT)
