Ganderbal 04 July (KNZ):Daily wagers PDD department staged protest here in Eid Gah duderhama Ganderbal demanding regularization of their services.
The workers assembled under the banner of ‘Daily wagers union of PDL/TDL Ganderbal to press for their demand including release of their wages pending for months.Led by president of the union Fayaz Ahmad, the protesting workers said the government had assured them of “fulfilling” their demands.
“They (the government) have again failed to keep its promise,” said the protesting employees.The pending wages, regularization of services,he added
“It has becomes difficult for us to meet daily expenses,” said a daily wager. “Our families are suffering,” he said.
Fayaz Ah also said that their demands are genuine which have already been accepted by the Government. “We are not demanding something beyond the reach of the Government,” he said and warned of consequences in case their demands are not met.“We will hit to roads to press for our genuine demands,” President told news agency KNZ.
The laborers said they have working sincerely for the department for past many years, but “unfortunately they are not being regularized as promised by the successive governments.” (KNZ)
