JAMMU November, 06【KNZ】: Like other Darbar move offices of the State Government, Police Headquarters opened here today. On the opening day the Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid visited the martyrs memorial at Rail Head Complex, chaired a senior officers meeting and inspected different sections of the Police Headquarters and also visited headquarters / wings which opened here today.
While chairing the meeting of the heads of different wings of the J&K Police, the DGP expressed satisfaction over the smooth opening of the darbar. Highlighting the achievements of the police during the past six months, the DGP said that the J&K Police has faced a number of challenges successfully during the past six months. Complementing the jawans and officers in the field, he said that their hard work has been appreciated at the highest levels by the State as well as Central Government; officers as well as the common-man. He thanked the state and central government for approving a number of welfare measures. He directed the PHQ officers to expedite the paper work and formalities so that different equipments are purchased as quick as possible for the use and benefit of the department personnel.

Earlier on his arrival DGP was given a Guard of Honour and was received by senior officers. In the morning the DGP visited the police martyrs memorial at Rail Head Complex and paid homage to the martyrs. The DGP visited different sections of PHQ, APHQ and other police offices which started functioning from Jammu today.
