Sopore, Feb 8 : Sopore Police in Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Monday claimed to have arrested a three-member gang of pick pockets.
The trio whom police identified as Nisar Ahmad Mathanji, son of Abdul Subhan Mathanji of Ashtangoo Bandipora, Danish Manzoor Ganie, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie of Putkha Muqam Sopore and Waseem Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Gani Sofi of Seer Jagir Sopore were picked up for questioning following continuous reports of pick pocketing and theft at crowded places of main town Sopore for the past couple of days, a police statement said.
During sustained interrogation, the trio confessed to the crime which led to the recovery of stolen property.
Earlier, Police Station Sopore had registered two different FIRs into the matter. (KNT)
