Ganderbal October 24: Acting tough against the social crimes, Police have arrested four gamblers in Ganderbal and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling at Rampora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kheerbawani, a Police team led by SHO PS Kheerbawani raided the specific spot and arrested the four gamblers on spot. They have been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Ganie son of Ali Mohd Ganie resident of Rampora, Muzaffar Ahmad Danga son of Bashir Ahmad Danga resident of Patirampora, Kaisar Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Saloora & Mehraj-u-din Parray son of Abdul Razaq Parray resident of Ladwina.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹4,400/- and Playing Cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 67/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kheerbawani & further investigation has been taken up.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
