Budgam Nov 28 (KNZ): Police in Budgam have arrested 04 persons and seized 04 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam.
Officers from PS Chadoora have arrested 04 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay from government land at Kuzwera Gowherpora Budgam. They have also seized 04 vehicles including 03 tippers and a JCB from the spot. The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Isaaq Bhat son of Ghulam Mohd Bhat resident of Kuzwera, Mohammad Shafi Rather son of Ghulam Mohd Rather resident of Doonewari and Mehraaj Din Dar son of Abdul Gaffar Dar and Ishfaaq Ahmad Gourah son of Mohammad Shabaan both residents of Maloura Khawaja Bazaar Srinagar. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 198/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.KNZ
