Budgam Nov 18 (KNZ): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Budgam during routine patrolling at Narkara Budgam intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing patrolling party tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him tactfully. He has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman Bhat resident of Narkara Budgam. During search, officers were able to recover 04 grams of Herion, banned drug Alprozolam 495 tablets and 01 litre codeine phosphate based syrup from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 346/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.KNZ
