Anantang December 04: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested two drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Police Station Mattan received an information through reliable sources that one Sadeeq Khan son of Mohd Hussain Khan resident of Satri Maidan Gopalpora Mattan has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded large quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation was taken up.
On receipt of this information, a search team comprising of SHO PS Mattan and Executive Magistrate Mattan raided the said house. During search of the house, about 11.5Kgs of Charas Powder was recovered and accused was arrested. Further investigation in the instant case is going on.
Moreover, another Police party from Police Station Bijbehara during naka checking at Hassanpora Bijbehara arrested one drug peddler identified as Javid Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara along with 10 Codeine Phosphate bottles. In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation was taken up.
