Ganderbal 21 Oct (KNZ):The sacrifices of Police in the line of their duties were marked with solemnity on the Police Commemoration Day held at District Police Lines Ganderbal.
SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, paid a floral tribute to all martyrs of the Police of the Country and two minutes silence was observed with heavy heart.
The function was held at District Police Lines Ganderbal where contingents of District Police and Home Guard especially Raksha toli performed silent parade on the beats of Pipe Band and DySP HQRS was Parade Commander. SSP Ganderbal took the salute of the Police Commemoration Day Parade.
On the occasion SSP Ganderbal said, ”The whole country is observing the Police Commemoration Day, we salute the courage, valour and sacrifices of our brave martyrs especially a recent valour action of Martyr Altaf Hussain who laid their lives for unity and integrity of the Nation and protecting the life and property of the people, he also added J&K Police Deptt. is organising various sports events across valley on the names of our brave warriors who got martyrdom on the lines of duty”.
SSP Ganderbal read out the list of Brave Martyrs of the country and paid rich tributes to them. The function was followed by laying of wreaths and showering of flowers by DC Ganderbal Shri Shafqat Iqbal- KAS, ADC Ganderbal Shri Farooq Ahmad Baba, Commandant CRPF 118BN Shri Anil Dyani, Commandant BSF Adhoc K7 Shri Khuldeep Kumar, 2IC 115BN Shri Latif, BDC Kangan Mohd Yousuf Poswal, Additional SP Ganderbal, SDPO Kangan, DySP Traffic Ganderbal, DySP PC and officers, jawans, guests and the members of Martyr’s families.
SSP Ganderbal with DC Ganderbal distributed essential items among NOK’S of Police Martyrs and SSP Ganderbal listened patiently the grievances of Police Martyr’s families and assured the issues pertaining to J&K Police Department will be followed for proper redressal and issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with civil administration for their redressal.
