Srinagar, Oct 27 :Resemblance of a girl with Pakistani ‘mujra dancer’ is being allegedly used by some of her relatives to malign her following which police has registered as a case.
A senior police officer told news agency GNS that the girl’s relatives had been claiming that she was working as a dancer to please ‘high and mighty’, and had they had showed screen grabs from a Pakistani dancing video to “malign” her.
The girl, who hails from Srinagar, then sought help from police and blamed the relatives for posting the fake dancing videos.
On subsequent enquiry, police found that the video grabs were from a ‘mujra videotape’ in Pakistan in which a girl is dancing inside a hotel room.
Her relatives took benefit of similar looks of the girl and tried to malign her family but investigation proved that the video was fake, police said. Previously, the relatives were then summoned and the matter was settled.
But their ‘tricks’ continued and they kept on blackmailing the girl’s family. The family has now approached the police and a complaint has been filed and fresh investigation taken up. (GNS)
