Srinagar, Apr 10 (KS) : Police on Monday prevented a lady from committing suicide in Kishtwar district on Monday.
A police official told Kashmir Scroll said that timely action of Kishtwar Police led by IC PP Shalimar PSI Imran Khan alongwith his team, today saved the precious life of one lady (name withheld) from jumping into the river Chinab near Hasti bridge Kishtwar.
He said, enquiry into the matter is going on to ascertain the facts behind this suicide bid. SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal appreciated the alertness of Police personnals on duty and save the precious life .
He also expressed the serious concern over the raising number of suicide attempts in Kishtwar, mostly by women folk and has appealed the public that everyone should come forward and putforth the grievances pertaining to domestic violence he said—(KS)
