Srinagar, Aug 30 A police officer was injured after suspected militants fired upon him at Imamsahab area in Shopian on Thursday evening.
Official sources told news agency GNS that the gunmen opened fire upon the police Sub-Inspector (SI) Gowhar Ahmad Malla while he was playing Volleyball in a local ground near his home at Barbugh area of Imamsahab this evening.
Gowhar Ahmad who is posted at Srigufwara in Anantnag was immediately shifted to near by hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.
Soon after the attack government forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers. (GNS)
