January 28: Police organised a free medical camp under the Civic Action Programme initiative at village Vilgam in collaboration with District Hospital Handwara.
A team of doctors from different specialities were deputed for the medical camp. The main initiative of this medical camp was to facilitate people in far-off areas and providing access to medical check-up and medicines by doctors. More than three hundred patients suffering from various ailments availed the facilities of the free medical camp.
In addition, the visiting members of public were made aware about signs and symptoms of drug addiction so that they could identify early onset of addiction and appropriate intervention. They were also made aware of deaddiction facilities which could be life saving for severe addicts. They were urged to spread awareness among the society that any disease/addiction is treatable with the right medical attention and that addicts and their families should not shy away from seeking medical help to get rid of drug addiction.
