June 24: As a part of public outreach programme, Police public interaction meeting cum awareness programme on Coronavirus was facilitated at Police Post Reshipora. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Awantipora along with I/C Police Post Reshipora.
While following social distancing norms and other protocols, the interaction meeting was attended by respectable citizens and other civil society members of Reshipora, Gulzarpora, Dogripora, Brabandina, Beighpora, Batpora, Panzgam and Tokina areas.
The main aim of the meeting was to seek cooperation from the general public in adherence of the guidelines as well as health advisories issued by the District Administration from time to time for the prevention of COVID-19 while dealing with their businesses activities.
During the meeting, the participants raised various social issues related to current pandemic. Participants were assured by the chairing officers that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be redressed on priority and other issues pertaining to the civil administration shall be conveyed to the respective departments for early redressal.
In the meeting, the cooperation was sort from the participants regarding the restrictions imposed in view of COVID-19 and eradication of other social crimes like drug trade and poppy cultivation from the area of Reshipora.
The participants were made aware about the necessary precautionary measures to protect themselves and their families from Coronavirus.
The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of police for facilitating such meetings where participants express their views freely.
