Srinagar: Police on Friday said that as per their records, police station Maharaj Gunj has not received any notice or summon to be served upon Bilal Ahmed Kawa from 2000 to 2017.
This after the trial court in Srinagar had asked for detailed report from state police with regard to Bilal Kawa’s arrest by Dehli Police on January 10 in connection with FIRno.
688/2000 registered at PS Kotwali, Dehli.
The Station House Officer(SHO), Maharaj Gunj submitted before court that as per records, this police station has not received any notice or summon to be served upon Bilal Ahmed Kawa from 2000 to 2017.
The report states from 2000 to 2017, no record has been found against Bilal Ahmed Kawa in this police station nor has any notice or summon been received against him.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmed Khan had passed direction to concerned SHO Police station, Maharaj Gunj seeking report for any issuance of any notice/summon to Bilal Kawa from 2000 to 2017.
The application was moved by Fatima Begum, mother of Kawa seeking release of his lone son who was arrested by Dehli police and Gujarat Anti terrorism squad on January 10.The authorities have claimed that Kawa was a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative and had been declared a proclaimed offender in the year 2000 Red Fort attack case.Though state police says there is no criminal record against Kawa.
