Sopore,12 Dec: Residents of Nowpora Kalan area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday staged a protest to highlight power crisis in the area for the last few weeks.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said residents while blaming the administration for not attending to their grievances which in result they are facing immense hardships due to unscheduled power cuts.
Residents while alleged PDD department for failed to provide them regular power supply said that in the absence of electricity their children are most affected as they are unable to prepare for examinations.
Mohammad Ramzan a local resident talking with Kashmir Despatch said that we have been facing a lot of problems due to unscheduled power cuts,” he said and urged the higher authorities of PDD to take necessary steps and solve their problem.
However the protesting residents said they would be forced to launch an agitation if their grievance were not resolved at earliest.
Meanwhile a team of police reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken to higher authorities.
