Pulwama January 02 KNT : In its continuous efforts to curb the menace of drugs in district Pulwama, Pulwama Police arrested 02 drug Peddlers and recovered Charas Powder 800gms & 1.5Kg Bang patri at different locations.
Police spokesman told in statement,On routine naka checking at Peaks Auto Gangoo Pulwama, one suspected person was noticed who was roaming in suspicious manner was signaled to stop, who on seeing the police party attempted to flee from the spot but were chased and apprehended tactfully.
During checking 1.5kg of Bang Patri was recovered from his possession.
The accused person has been arrested on spot which later identified as Inayat Javid S/o Javaid Ah Ganie R/o Chatapora.
To this effect Case FIR No 02/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in PS Pulwama and investigation initiated.
Similarly, on receiving a specific information by Police Pulwama that a person namely Shakeel Ahmad Wani S/o Gulam Ahmad Wani R/o Gosoo Pulwama is indulged in peddling of contraband substances and also concealed a large quantity of contraband substances in his residential house for illicit trade.
On this Police party from Police Station Pulwama raided the specific location at village Gusoo Pulwama in presence of Magistrate.
During search 800 gms of Charas Powder was recovered from the said house and the accused person has been arrested on spot. In this regard Case FIR No. 01/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act have been registered at PS Pulwama and investigation set into motion.
Pulwama police has launched a full-fledged war against drug peddling & its propagators and will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs/social evils within the District.
General public of the district are once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or any other anti-social activities in their vicinity so that timely action will be taken against the culprits.(KNT)
